“The Rookie Bartender” is a competition between four bartending students at The Poppin’ Bottles Bartending Academy who are trained by celebrity trainers: MTV’s Cara Maria Sorbello, Bad Girl Alum Kate Squillace, Boston promoter Dave Branca and infamous Boston bartender and party-master Dre Haynes.
With no experience behind the bar, each “Rookie” will train and compete each week for the shot at a cash prize, a bartending job at one of the hottest bars in Boston and the chance to leave their “Rookie” title behind.
Shot on location at the Poppin’ Bottles Bartending Academy headquarters at The Place in Downtown Boston, Massachusetts, “The Rookie Bartender” is a weekly web-based TV show that shows us that bartending is not just about slinging the best cocktails, you got to bring your mojo to your mixology.

Bartending as a profession

Designed for Beginners

Poppin Bottles courses are designed for beginners so it's easy for aspiring mixologists of all (legal) ages to enroll. By the time you've completed the required hours of training you'll be able to tend bar with confidence! Over the course of required 200 hours of training you will hone your skills becoming well versed in liquors and their origins, understand pricing, beverage control and customer service as well as feel comfortable behind an actual bar -- because remember! That is why Poppin Bottles is unlike any other bartending school - we train you right where the action is happening: behind an acutal bar.
